The Bengal Tiger is a solitary predator. It prefers dense environments for hunting, taking advantage of vegetation cover to camouflage itself effectively. Some individuals are born with a genetic mutation that gives them a white coat. Unfortunately, this color makes them too visible in their natural environment, compromising their survival.
Threats and conservation
The tiger is threatened by habitat loss, poaching, and illegal trade, which has led to the extinction of certain subspecies. To counter these dangers, initiatives such as the Tiger Project in India and actions by WWF and WCS aim to protect tigers and their habitats, fighting against poaching and monitoring populations.
